This is an FAQ entry for the WordPress chatGPT SmartSearchWP plugin.
The chatbot is added to your site footer by WordPress itself, and it talks to the server through the WordPress REST API. It therefore depends neither on your theme nor on your page builder.
SmartSearchWP is compatible with all themes, page builders and translation plugins, including:
- Elementor and Elementor Pro: smartsearchwp.com itself runs on Elementor Pro with SmartSearchWP;
- WPML, Polylang, TranslatePress, GTranslate: for a multilingual site, index the pages of each language in Contexts, see the multilingual article;
- all themes (Avada, Astra, Divi, etc.).
WordPress: version 4.7 minimum, tested up to WordPress 7.1. See the technical requirements.
WordPress multisite: SmartSearchWP has not been tested on a multisite network yet.
If the chatbot icon does not appear, the usual cause is a cache plugin that minifies JavaScript: see The chatbot does not appear on my site.
