Does Open Ai retain the content of requests sent?

This is an FAQ answer for the SmartSearchWP chatGPT plugin for WordPress.

Yes, for a limited time. OpenAI may keep requests sent through the API for up to 30 days in its abuse monitoring logs, unless it is legally required to keep them longer.

However, data sent to the API is not used to train OpenAI’s models, unless you explicitly opt in from your OpenAI account.

In addition, SmartSearchWP asks OpenAI not to store the generated answers. Your contexts and embeddings stay stored on your own hosting.
