This is an FAQ entry for the WordPress chatGPT SmartSearchWP plugin.
With the Premium version: the Usage Control add-on #
The Usage Control add-on lets you choose:
- the pages where the chatbot appears;
- content types (articles, pages, products, custom content);
- devices: computer, cell phone, or both;
- user roles, including unlogged-in visitors;
- opening hours and a maximum number of questions per time period.
With the free version: a few lines of CSS #
The free version does not have settings for display per page or per device, but you can hide the chatbot using CSS (Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS).
Hide on mobile:
@media (max-width: 767px) {
#chat-circle, #chatbot-container { display: none !important; }
}
Hide on a specific page (replace 42 with the page ID):
.page-id-42 #chat-circle, .page-id-42 #chatbot-container { display: none !important; }
The message “Access to the chatbot is not allowed on this page” appears at the bottom of my pages #
When Usage Control is enabled, this text appears in place of the chatbot on excluded pages. To hide it, add this CSS:
.wdgpt-chatbot-restricted { display: none; }
The variants “…for this content type,” “…for your device,” and “…restricted for your user role” are hidden by the same rule.
