# Which AI models are compatible with SmartSearchWP?

This is an FAQ entry for the [WordPress chatGPT SmartSearchWP plugin](https://www.smartsearchwp.com/en/).

SmartSearchWP works **exclusively with the OpenAI API**, using your own API key.

## Which OpenAI models?

The General Settings menu displays the models that your key provides access to, retrieved directly from your OpenAI account. When OpenAI releases a new model and your account has access to it, it appears in the list. For each model, SmartSearchWP displays its context size, estimated cost, and a recommendation.

## Gemini, Claude, Mistral, Llama, or a local LLM?

Not yet. Support for other AI providers is planned for a future update to the plugin; it will be announced on smartsearchwp.com and in the newsletter.
