# I’ve got the “Currently, there appears to be an issue.” error in the chatbot

This is an FAQ answer for the [SmartSearchWP chatGPT plugin for WordPress](https://www.smartsearchwp.com/en/).

The chatbot displays the message “Currently, there appears to be an issue. Please try asking me again later.” when it cannot prepare an answer. Possible causes:

- **No credit left on your OpenAI account**: this is the most common cause. Top up your OpenAI account, then test again.
- **Missing API key**: check that it is saved in SmartSearchWP > General Settings.
- **Request rejected by OpenAI** while analysing the question, for example a question that is too long.
- **Incomplete embeddings**, for example generated while your OpenAI credit was exhausted: in Contexts, click “Retraining AI” for the content concerned.
