# How do I integrate or modify the SmartSearchWP prompt?

The base prompt of our SmartSearchWP ChatGPT chatbot for WordPress cannot be changed in the free version. This base prompt asks ChatGPT to answer the chatbot user’s question using the context provided. SmartSearchWP therefore gives ChatGPT the question plus the knowledge base needed to answer it. The prompt is optimised for this task.

However, if you want to customise the prompt because the answers do not suit you, here are several solutions:

- **with the Premium [Prompt Override](https://www.smartsearchwp.com/en/docs/can-i-customize-the-prompt-sent-to-the-ai-to-adapt-the-type-of-response-i-want/) add-on**, you edit the base prompt directly from the admin: tone, style, instructions. This is the simplest solution.
- **first make sure** that the content of the pages used in the context is clear and complete enough to serve as a basis for answers. An inaccurate answer from the chatbot very often comes from initial content that is unclear or confusing. Sometimes content may also contradict itself across your pages.
